International Essay Writing Competition!

Competition Outline

  • Applicants must be aged between 11 (by the 31st July) and 16 years (before the 1st September).

  • One essay written in English per applicant.

  • The word count must be between 300 and 500 words.

  • The essay must be focused on the topic ‘Justice’.

  • The essay will be marked on various criteria, including content, linguistic ability, coherency and vocabulary. Marks will be lost for inaccurate punctuation, grammar etc.

  • The deadline is Monday 31st August 2020.

  • Payment of £5 (or equivalent) is required before the essay is accepted.

  • The finals will be on Saturday 19th September at 3pm GMT on Zoom with a live speech reading by the finalists before a panel of judges.

  • The winner will receive a £200 (or equivalent) cash prize and free entry to an essay writing seminar on Saturday 26th September, 2020.

  • The runners up will receive free entry to an essay writing seminar on Saturday 26th September, 2020.

  • All applicants will receive discounted entry (£5 per applicant) to an essay writing seminar on Saturday 26th September, 2020.

  • All entrance fees are non-refundable, however, if for any reason the competition is cancelled, fees will be returned to the sender.
